EVANS EYEING TALKS OVER LEEDS FUTURE

Steve Evans wants Massimo Cellino to tell him his fate after Darrell Clarke snubbed Leeds to commit his future to Bristol Rovers.
Clarke has agreed a new three-year deal with Rovers, forcing Leeds supremo Cellino to review his list of managerial candidates to succeed Evans.

Evans has still not officially heard from Cellino that he is being axed and says he needs closure from the Leeds owner and president.
“It’s been a difficult situation as you can imagine,” said the Leeds head coach. “I respect the fact that Mr Cellino and the board have a decision to make.

“But in terms of that process, it’s now time I must consider my options and in the week ahead I’ll have a meeting with Mr Cellino and see where I’m going.
“I now need to establish in the next week or two if I have a plan going forward with Leeds United Football Club.”

GALATASARAY CONSIDERING BALOTELLI SWOOP

Galatasaray are weighing up a move for Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli.
Liverpool want to offload the £80,000-a-week Balotelli after his season-long loan spell at former club AC Milan ended and Galatasaray are interested in the Italian misfit.
The Turkish side want to strengthen their attack after losing Burak Yilmaz to Beijing Guoan in January.
Liverpool have also put a £4.6million price tag on forgotten man Luis Alberto, who spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna.
Deportivo would like to sign Alberto permanently, while Villarreal and his former club Sevilla have also shown interest in the attacking midfielder.
Alberto’s agent Alvaro Torres said: “During the transfer market in May, we know little. The first thing is to talk with Liverpool and see what opinion they have on Alberto.”

 

JOHN SHERIDAN UNVEILED AS NEW NOTTS COUNTY BOSS

John Sheridan has left Oldham Athletic to take charge at Notts County.
Sheridan is looking forward to a promotion push at Meadow Lane, having dropped out of League One to take charge.
He’s been promised a bigger budget in the East Midlands than he would have had to work with at Boundary Park.
Oldham chairman Simon Corney has said the following:
“It is particularly tough for me as John is not only a good manager but also a good friend.
“There are several reasons behind this move and not all will be apparent to everyone, but John goes with my blessing and eternal thanks for his tremendous effort in keeping us in Division One last season.”

 

MORE PREMIER LEAGUE SIDES JOIN RICO HENRY CHASE

Leicester and Sunderland have joined the chase for Walsall starlet Rico Henry.
The Premier League duo are eyeing 18 year-old left-back, along with Championship pair Brighton and Hull.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have all had Henry watched during the season.
Henry, called up to the latest England under-19 squad this week, was likened to former Arsenal, Chelsea and England star Ashley Cole by his former Walsall boss Dean Smith.
And he underlined his potential by making the League One team of the year and being nominated for the young player of the year award.
He is tied to Walsall until 2018 after signing a new deal during the season.

BRISTOL ROVERS TIE DOWN DARRELL CLARKE!

It’s bad news for Massimo Cellino.
But HUGE for Bristol Rovers!
Darrell Clarke has agreed to remain at The Memorial Stadium as manager, turning down a move to Elland Road.
Clarke has agreed a new three-year contract which will make him the highest paid manager in the club’s history.
Rovers are back in League One next season, and Clarke has elected to stay put, rather than move to Elland Road.

 

NEW DEAL FOR BUSQUETS

Barcelona have extended the contract of midfielder Sergio Busquets.
The Spanish international, winner of another La Liga title and the Copa del Rey this season, has signed a new five year deal at Camp Nou.
His buyout clause now stands at a cool €200million.
Overall, Busquets has won 6 La Liga titles, 3 Champions Leagues, 4 Copa del Reys, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 4 Spanish Super Cups, and 3 FIFA Club World Cups.

 

MOURINHO WANTS TO "FORGET" PAST THREE YEARS

Jose Mourinho’s first task as Manchester United boss was to try to airbrush the past three years of under-achievement from the club’s history.
Mourinho was today confirmed as Louis van Gaal’s successor on a three-year deal and will begin the job of trying to restore United to the status of Premier League champions.
“We can look at our club in two perspectives - one perspective is the past three years and the other perspective is the history,” said Mourinho.
“I prefer to forget the past three years and focus on the giant club I have in my hands now.
“I feel great. I think it comes in the right moment of my career, because Manchester United is one of those clubs you really need to be prepared for, because it’s a giant club and giant clubs must be for the best managers and I think I am ready for it.
“I am proud, happy , honoured and I am ready for it. I like to work and I cannot wait until July 7 to go out on the pitch.
“The message to the fans is that I want to win, and more than that I need the supporters and the players to feel that I say that, not just say it for the sake of saying it.
“I want to focus on the history of this giant club and give what I have and what I don’t have, so I will give absolutely everything to try to go into the direction we all want.”

MALAGA APPOINT FORMER SPURS BOSS

Juande Ramos is the new manager of Malaga.
The former Tottenham manager has agreed a three-year deal with the La Liga outfit.
Ramos has been out of work since leaving Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in 2014.

READING SACK MCDERMOTT

Reading have sacked manager Brian McDermott, with Jaap Stam waiting in the wings to replace him.
McDermott only took charge of the Royals for a second time earlier this season following the dismissal of Steve Clarke.
However, he has been axed and Stam has been earmarked for the top job at the Championship club instead.
After careful consideration, the board of Reading Football Club have taken the difficult decision to relieve Manager Brian McDermott of his duties.
We would like to sincerely thank Brian for all his hard work since his return to the club in December 2015 and wish him well in his future career.
The board of Reading Football Club will now undertake a rigorous recruitment process over the next few weeks to identify the right man to lead this club forward and into the 2016-17 season.
The club will make a further announcement to our supporters in due course.

 

UNITED LEGEND IN LINE FOR READING JOB

Manchester United legend Jaap Stam is in line for a shock return to England as manager of Championship club Reading.
Reading’s Thai owners want former Holland defender Stam, 43, to replace Brian McDermott as Royals boss.
Stam, part of United’s 1999 treble winning side and who had a three-year stint as a scout at Old Trafford, is currently on the backroom staff at Ajax.
Ex-Lazio and AC Milan star Stam worked with Reading’s Dutch technical director Brian Tevreden at the Amsterdam giants.
McDermott is battling to save his job after a poor run of results following his return to the Madejski Stadium in December.

 

JUVENTUS PLANNING FOR MORATA DEPARTURE

Juventus manager Max Allegri has confirmed the club is planning for life without Arsenal target Alvaro Morata.
The striker joined Juve from Real Madrid two years ago but the Spanish side included a clause in the contract which allows them to buy him back for £24million this summer.
Madrid are expected to do exactly that before immediately selling him on for a hefty profit.
“The club are working on the transfer market and monitoring possible alternatives,” Allegri told Sky Italia. “We have a lot of forwards with players who are all in national teams and many young guys.”
Allegri added: “I’ve already given Morata some advice: he needs to stay at Juventus. What did he say? He nodded. I hope he understands, I’m saying this for his own good.”
