Real Madrid president Florentine Perez claims there has
been 'no offer' from Arsenal for their Argentine striker Gonzalo
Higuain. Higuian has been heavily linked with Arsenal all summer, with
reports that a deal is close having seemingly been a daily feature. But
Perez gave an interview with a TV channel called Univision (me neither)
claiming the Gunners hadn't made an offer and that Real want him to
stay.
'We don`t want him to go," he said. "Furthermore, nobody
from Arsenal has come here, or made an offer, not €27m, nothing. There
is no offer."
Meanwhile, several leading newspapers
have gone with a story in this morning's Daily Telegraph that Arsenal
have had a £30m bid for Luis Suarez rejected by Liverpool last week.
So
much smoke, so many mirrors. It's virtually impossible to decipher which
information is true, which is bullplop and which is simply planted for
brinkmanship purposes.
