Liverpool are set to sign Valencia full-back Aly Cissokho to add to their incomings, which will make him the fifth summer signing for Liverpool.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has already brought in Simon Mignolet, Kolo
Toure, Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas this summer, but has vowed to
continue signing more players.
Liverpool are really in for business as they are ready to challenge for the top four next season and if possible the Premier league cup.
A new left-back is among the priorities to materialize their dream and vision, after failing to sign Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand, Rodgers has however set his sight on Valencia ace Cissokho.
According to reports in Spain, Liverpool have struck an agreement to
bring the Frenchman to Anfield on a one-year loan deal, with the option
to make it permanent in 12 months’ time.
The Reds would be handing over a loan fee of around £850,000, and are
just waiting on the green light from the player to complete the
transfer.
Cissokho, a previous target for Arsenal and Newcastle, made just 25
appearances in his first season with Valencia after joining from Lyon,
and is keen to move on.
The 25-year-old will provide competition to Jose Enrique and rookie Jack Robinson in the left-back berth.
