It has been reported that West Ham are ready to make a bid for Gijon Trejo in order to strenghten their attacking line.
The London outfit are keen to make the Argentine their fifth summer
signing following the release of Carlton Cole
and Marouane Chamakh’s return to Arsenal from a loan spell and are
believed to have offered a cash plus add-ons deal for the 25-year-old.
However the Hammers face strong competition from Olympiakos and Toulouse with the latter also making a bid.
The Segunda side are holding out for at least £2.5 million but Trejo
is said to prefer a move to England and West Ham have been in
negotiations with the player’s agent as they aim to secure the deal by
the end of the week.
Trejo is understood to be desperate to leave Spain having been still to be paid wages by Gijon from several months ago.
During his time with the Rojiblancos Trejo has made 75 appearances scoring 10 goals.
