Former Argentina under - 20 player has sign for Ukrainian Champions and has immediately send a warning signal to Ukraine defenders that he will score goals.
Shakhtar Donetsk confirmed the capture of Argentine attacker Facundo Ferreyra, nicknamed 'Chucky', from Velez Sarsfield for a transfer fee of €7 million.
The 22-year-old has penned a five-year deal with the Ukrainian champions to mark his first foray into European football.
"I am very happy," Chucky told the club's official website.
"I
was flattered by the interest expressed by Shakhtar and I will try to
fully compensate for the trust with my performance on the pitch and with
good goals. You can expect a lot of goals from me."
The young
forward scored 31 goals in 78 league games in Argentina's top flight for
Velez and Banfield and he is confident the transition to Eastern Europe
will not prove too testing.
"Velez used the same formation as
Shakhtar do. We also had four defenders, two holding midfielders, three
attackers and a forward on the offensive end," he added.
