Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has loan youngstar Oriol Romeu to Valencia so as to gain more experience.
Romeu - a product of the Barcelona youth academy - missed the majority of last season with a cruciate knee injury but was expected to be part of Mourinho's plans at Chelsea.
But following the signing of fellow midfielder Marco van Ginkel, the 22-year-old will head to Valencia in the hope of playing regular first-team football before returning to west London.
David Albeda's departure from the La Liga outfit paved the way for Romeu to move to the club.
