BVB closing in on German Midfielder Rode
Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode is closing in on a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Rode, 25, has been pushed further down the pecking order in Bavaria by the arrival of Renato Sanches.
Now according to Kicker, Rode is set for a €12million move.

The German rivals have already exchanged one player this summer, with Germany defender Mats Hummels returning to the Allianz Arena after eight years with BVB.

Newly-promoted Barnsley are interested in another loan deal for Manchester United youngster Ashley Fletcher.

The 20-year-old striker scored nine goals in 26 games for the Tykes, after arriving at Oakwell in January.
Now, after scoring at Wembley in the playoff final this last weekend, chairman Maurice Watkins says he wants to keep Fletcher next term.

“It would be fantastic to have Ashley with us in the Championship, but we will have to open up our discussions and see where we get to,” the ex-Old Trafford director said.

“I do know the people at Manchester United from my previous associations there – and that could help, you never know!

“Ashley has done very well since he has been with us. He has played well but also enjoyed his football.
“He is deceptively fast and knows where the goal is, and his goal at Wembley was a great one when you looked at it closely.”




Manchester United Transfer News:
Manchester United are trying to land Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, according Portuguese paper A Bola.
The Sweden international enjoyed a successful season guiding the Lisbon-based side to the Primeira Liga title.

But United have reportedly been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old as they weigh up options to bolster their back-line ahead of Jose Mourinho’s arrival.

It is believed that United have already made an initial approach, but Benfica will only listen to offers in the region of £23million or more.

Arsenal have set their sights on Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 24-year-old Colombian could be the answer to Arsene Wenger’s defensive woes, after an inconsistent season from Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.

Inter have to sell this summer as they have a £39million deficit to make up if they are to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules.

Murillo, a regular in the Inter team last season, could be available for around £20million.




Liverpool Transfer news

Liverpool are edging closer to the signing of Anderlecht sensation Samuel Bastien, according to Voetbalkrant.

The 19-year-old is believed to have been the subject of a bid around the value of €5million and €6million with a view to a summer move.

Liverpool are said to have already beaten off competition from Palermo, Sporting Lisbon, Fiorentina and Juventus to land Bastien, who will not complete any move until he returns from holiday in Spain.

He spent all of last season playing in the Italian Serie B for Avellino, where he has caught the eye of scouts all around the world.
 


My Career is not over – Van der Vaart

Rafael van der Vaart is on a move to Ajax after dismissing speculation that he could be set to end his career.
The former Tottenham playmaker, 33, joined Real Betis last summer, but barely featured for the Spanish club on their return to La Liga.

And speaking in his homeland, the ex-Netherlands skipper has come out fighting, with regards his future.
“My career is certainly not over. I am fit and still have so much desire, “said van der Vaart, speaking to Voetbal International

And the Dutchman would like to return to first-club Ajax, if he isn’t wanted at Real Betis this summer.
“That would be nice,” said the Dutchman. “Playing football is the most beautiful thing there is.

“I’m open to everything. I would also play quietly with a club from the second division, as long as I can continue playing football.”
